Building Surveys

A thorough inspection — and a report you can act on.

A full Building Survey provides a thorough inspection of internal and external areas, and a detailed assessment of both the construction and condition of a property.

What's included

The detailed reports cover damp, condensation, rot, subsidence as well as providing a description of visible defects and potential problems, and outline of repair options.

Reports also contain photographs and helpful advice, plus details of serious risks and dangerous conditions identified during inspection.

Who it's for

Suitable for all types of building and typically recommended for large, older or rundown properties — including buildings that are unusual or altered, including barn conversions, and properties that will be subject to major works.

The service is available to residential or commercial purchasers and buy-to-let investors. Architects and other professionals also commission Building Surveys to support planning applications and other specialist activities.

How a Building Survey differs from a Homebuyer Report

A Homebuyer Report provides an overview of condition and is suitable for conventional houses, flats and bungalows in reasonable order. A Building Survey is more thorough and is the right choice for older, larger, unusual or significantly altered properties — including barn conversions and listed buildings.
