A passion for detail

A passion for detail

Born from Les's passion for restoring unique antique furniture using traditional methods, Hymas & Sons has evolved into a family operation. Pick your own fabric or leather, bring us a piece you love, and we'll restore it to original condition — or beyond.

Traditional methods, modern fabrics

An antique frame, in a fabric of today.

Bring us a chair that's been in the family for a hundred years — we'll strip it back, hand-stitch the springs, horsehair the seat, and finish it in whatever fabric you want it to wear next. The piece you sit in for the next thirty years.

Restoration in pictures

"Traditional upholstery means hand stitching, horsehair sprung seating and the materials Edwardian and Victorian makers used. We bring those methods to your piece — alongside modern fabrics and modern construction where the job calls for it." — Hymas & Sons · workshop principle
